Bulldog Cases is recalling the following biometric gun vaults:
- Magnum Biometric Pistol Vault: BD4030B
- Magnum Biometric Pistol Vault with Shelf: BD4040B
- Magnum Biometric Top Load Pistol Vault: BD4055B
The biometric lock on the gun safes can be opened by unauthorized users if not programmed, posing a serious injury hazard and risk of death.
Bulldog Cases is voluntarily recalling these units in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).
Please immediately stop using the biometric feature of the recalled safe, remove the batteries from the safe and only use the key when storing firearms. Bulldog is offering a free repair kit for models BD4030B and BD4040B, and a free replacement for model BD4055B.

Why is Bulldog Cases Recalling These Vaults?
The biometric lock for these vaults is shipped in “demo mode” which means that, if not properly programmed, any fingerprint can open the vault. We have received four reports of unauthorized users accessing vaults.

Are any other Vaults and Safes Being Recalled?
No. Bulldog is only recalled the BD4030B, BD4040B, and BD4055B vaults.

Have There Been Any Injuries or Deaths Associated with These Vaults?
No. Bulldog is not aware of any reports of injuries or deaths associated with these recalled vaults. Bulldog is aware of four reports of unauthorized access to a recalled vault.

I Own a BD4055B vault, can I get a repair kit?
Unfortunately not. We only have repair kits for the BD4030B and BD4040B vaults. If you own a BD4055B vault, please register for a replacement vault.

What Kind of Replacement Vault Wil I Get?
We will provide you with a replacement vault of your choice with a retail price of up to the retail price of your recalled vault. You options include biometric vaults delivered in safe mode, digital PIN vaults, traditional vaults with keys and security cable. If you register for a replacement vault, we will contact you with a list of your replacement options.

I Own a BD4030B or BD4040B Vault and I Do Not Feel Comfortable Doing My Own Repair. What Are My Options?
If you own a BD4030B or BD4040B vault and do not feel comfortable doing the repair, you can register for a replacement vault with a retail price of up to the retail price of your recalled vault. I Have Correctly Programmed my Vault and Feel Comfortable Keeping It. Do I Have to Repair or Replace it?
We urge you to take part in the recall by registering for a replacement or repair as applicable.

I No Longer Have My Vault, Can I get a Replacement or a Refund?
No. The recall remedy is only available to consumers who still own the recalled vault. If you have sold or gifted your recalled vault, we urge you to contact the new owner so that they can register for the recall.
Repair Kit Registration
Please immediately stop using the biometric feature of the recalled safe, remove the batteries from the
safe and only use the key when storing firearms, until you install the free repair kit.
Replacement Registration
Please immediately stop using the biometric feature of the recalled safe, remove the batteries from the
safe and only use the key when storing firearms until you receive the free replacement vault. You MUST
return the recalled vault after receiving the replacement. Do not use, sell, gift, or throw away the
recalled vault.
